Creating sublimation products (all other styles)

1) LOG IN TO YOUR THROUGH6 THROUGH6 PORTAL

2) NAVIGATE TO YOUR PRODUCTS PAGE

3) START CREATING YOUR NEW SUBLIMATION PRODUCT

Once you have landed on your products page, you can click “create new sublimation product”.

There, you will select the style you want to create product from using the drop-down menu. If the style you want to create product from is not listed, you can reach out to have it added to your Through6 Portal.

If the style you have selected is Auto Panel enabled, please follow our instructions on creating sublimation products (auto panel styles). You can tell if it’s Auto Panel enabled, because a dialogue box will pop up telling you.

Click “Download Template” to download the design templates.

4) USE ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR TO PLACE YOUR ARTWORK

Open the design template in Adobe Illustrator. Do not move or modify any panels or existing text.

All size layers are in the design template, so you will see a number of different layers when you open the file. Don’t worry – you’ll only work in one at a time!

Under layers, you can select the first size layer you will work in. Always start with the largest size available.

“Arrange” art and “Send to Back”.

Create a clipping mask in each template panel.

Once you’ve finished laying out your art on the panels for the selected size, you will need to crop out the extra white space on the artboard, on both the top and the bottom (as shown below).

Do not adjust the width of the artboard.

5) EXPORT DESIGN TEMPLATE

Turn off “INFO” layer.

Select  File > Export > Export As…

Save as follows:

  • Save As: Use the naming format ArtName-Size.jpg (Note: each size needs to be saved as a separate JPEG (jpg) file and must have the size at the end of the file name).
  • Format: JPEG (jpg).
  • Check “Use Artboards”.
  • Click “Export”.

A new window will pop up and ask you for more save settings. Save as follows:

  • Color Model: RGB (this saves the color as represented in the original artwork).
  • Quality: 10 (Maximum).
  • Compression Method: Baseline (Standard).
  • D: Medium (150 ppi).
  • E: Anti-alising: Type Optimized (Hinted).
  • D: Leave “Embed ICC Profile” unchecked.

6) REPEAT STEPS 4 & 5 FOR REMAINING SIZES REQUIRED

You have full control over which sizes you want to be enabled for the product you are creating. Repeat steps 4 & 5 for each of the remaining sizes you want to enable for your product.

7) FINISH CREATING YOUR SUBLIMATION PRODUCT

Return to your Through6 Portal, where you began creating your product and click “Next”.

Don’t worry - If you closed the window, while you were placing your artwork, you can repeat steps 1 and 2.

In the next screen, you can add your art name and select the sizes you want to make available for this product. By default, all sizes available for the styles you selected will be checked.

Click “Next”.

Next, you can upload your design file (with the size at the end of each file name).

TIP: you can drag and drop your file into the upload box shown below.

Your files will show under the “Files Added” section, as they are uploaded. Depending on your internet speed, it might take up to 30 minutes for your files to upload.

Click “Next”.

You can now link your product to Shopify by adding some basic information in the fields shown below and clicking “Create Shopify Product”.

If you want to add your product to Shopify manually, you can click “Skip Adding Product to Shopify”.

To add your product to Shopify manually, you will need to input the SKU that is provided on your Through6 Portal product page, to your Shopify product page. Simply copy and paste the SKU from your Through6 product page to your Shopify product page. Alternatively, you can export your SKUs to an excel document using the "export to excel" feature on your Through6 Portal, and import those SKUs to your Shopify product listing(s).

You will be able to view the SKUs for each size in the “Product Variants” section shown below.

19.png

Once complete, your product view will show:

  • A preview of your art panel.
  • The size templates generated (TIP: sizes that have uploaded successfully will show green at the top of your screen).

SKUs will be generated for each size. You will be able to export your SKUs into an excel spreadsheet, re-upload design files, delete your product and create a new product from this window.

You can always come back to this window later, by clicking “view” on products listed in the “Products” tab of your Client Through6. E.g. if you want to add additional sizes to your product.
