Creating sublimation products (auto-panel styles)

1) LOG IN TO YOUR THROUGH6 THROUGH6 PORTAL

2) NAVIGATE TO YOUR PRODUCTS PAGE

3) START CREATING YOUR NEW SUBLIMATION PRODUCT

Once you have landed on your products page, you can click “create new sublimation product”.

There, you will select the style you want to create product from using the drop-down menu. If the style you want to create product from is not listed, you can reach out to have it added to your Through6 Portal.

If the style you have selected is Auto Panel enabled, it will be noted in a dialogue box as shown below. Please follow the instructions in the dialogue box to ensure your artwork uploads correctly (otherwise, it might be pushed to your Missing Art queue!).

If the style you have selected is not Auto Panel enabled, please follow our instructions on creating sublimation products (other styles).

Click “Download Template” to download the base template (Note: this template will not have layered individual size templates, you only need to upload one file for all your sizes!).

4) USE ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR TO PLACE YOUR ARTWORK

Open the base template in Adobe Illustrator. Do not change anything on the base template layout.

Turn on “INFO” layer to learn more about template panels and to mask the panels.

Remember to have your “BASE” layer turned on.

In the layers window, select the “BASE” layer.

Place your artwork onto the “BASE” layer.

On your artboard, align and scale your artwork with the panel you want to fill. Turn on the “INFO” layer to see the art as a panel.

“Arrange” art and “Send to Back”.

Create a clipping mask in each template panel.

Repeat for all panels.

A new window will pop up and ask you for more save settings. Save as follows:

  • Color Model: RGB (this saves the color as represented in the original artwork).
  • Quality: 10 (Maximum).
  • Compression Method: Baseline (Standard).
  • D: Medium (150 ppi).
  • E: Anti-alising: Type Oprimized (Hinted).
  • D: Leave “Embed ICC Profile” unchecked.

To export, click “OK”.

TIP: Once you have exported your file, the name of your design file will have “_BASE” at the end. This is a good way to check if you have exported the file correctly, as it will only appear if you have checked “Use Artboard” when exporting.

6) FINISH CREATING YOUR SUBLIMATION PRODUCT

Return to your Through6 Portal, where you began creating your product and click “Next”.

Don’t worry - If you closed the window, while you were placing your artwork, you can repeat steps 1 and 2.

11.png

In the next screen, you can add your art name and select the sizes you want to make available for this product. By default, all sizes available for the styles you selected will be checked.

Click “Next”.

Next, you can upload your design file (with “_BASE” at the end of the file name).

TIP: you can drag and drop your file into the upload box shown below.

Your files will show under the “Files Added” section, as they are uploaded. Depending on your internet speed, it might take up to 30 minutes for your base file to upload.

Click “Next”.

You can now link your product to Shopify by adding some basic information in the fields shown below and clicking “Create Shopify Product”.

If you want to add your product to Shopify manually, you can click “Skip Adding Product to Shopify”.

To add your product to Shopify manually, you will need to input the SKU that is provided on your Through6 Portal product page, to your Shopify product page. Simply copy and paste the SKU from your Through6 product page to your Shopify product page. Alternatively, you can export your SKUs to an excel document using the "export to excel" feature on your Through6 Portal, and import those SKUs to your Shopify product listing(s).

You will be able to view the SKUs for each size in the “Product Variants” section shown below.

14.png

Once complete, your product view will show:

  • A preview of your art panel.
  • The size templates generated (TIP: sizes that have uploaded successfully will show green at the top of your screen).

You will be able to export your SKUs into an excel spreadsheet, re-upload design files, delete your product and create a new product from this window.

You can always come back to this window later, by clicking “view” on products listed in the “Products” page of your Through6 Portal.
